Which Shell engine oil is right for your bike?
Compare Shell Advance AX5, Ultra, Fuel Save and AX5 Scooter. Motorcycle and scooter oils can share a viscosity but have different clutch specifications; choose the manual’s grade and standard before comparing price.

Which grade do you need?
The safest answer is printed in your bike's owner's manual. The first number (10W, 20W) shows how easily the oil flows when cold; the last (30, 40, 50) shows how thick it stays when the engine is hot.
- 10W-30
- SAE hot-viscosity class 30, low-temperature class 10W. Use when the manual permits 10W-30 and the API/JASO standard matches.
- 10W-40
- SAE hot-viscosity class 40, low-temperature class 10W. Matching grade alone does not confirm motorcycle or scooter compatibility.
- 20W-40
- Same SAE hot-viscosity class 40 as 10W-40, with a different low-temperature class. Follow the manual’s permitted viscosity range.
- 20W-50
- SAE hot-viscosity class 50. Hot weather or high mileage alone does not justify replacing a grade-30 or grade-40 recommendation.
